Dr Kendrew Colhoun Company Director and Principal [BSc. Hons (Environmental Sciences) PhD (Avian ecology)] 

Employment history - Northern Ireland Assembly, Royal Society for the Protection of Birds, BirdWatch Ireland, University of Exeter and University College Dublin 
Kendrew has >20 years experience as an ecologist, having initially studied Environmental Sciences to degree level (subject areas included hydrology, geomorphology, geology, environmnetal chemistry, soil science and meteorology). He undertook his PhD in the mid-1990s on avian ecology of migratory birds and has since worked for NGOs (incl as Senior Conservation Scientist with RSPB NI for 10 years), government (in the NI Assembly for 5 years with secondment to NIEA) and as PDRA/Research Fellowships at University College Dublin and The University of Exeter. Since establishing the company in 2018, he has established a team working to a range of clients across Ireland on a wide range of projects, in addition to involvement in a number of support/voluntary projects elsewhere. These include long-term projects on Light-bellied Brent Geese, co-supervision of PhD projects on waders, swans and geese and establishing a new bird observatory. 
Our work focusses on helping to conserve our declining biodiversity and underpinning decisions based on a sound scientific evidence-base. Consequently, where we can, we aim to contribute to progressing our knowledge base and publishing our work in the peer-reviewed literature.
